A new study tracks the cities with the highest median monthly housing costs in all 50 U.S. states. Fourteen cities had monthly costs topping $4,000.

In 10 states, more than one town had median monthly housing costs surpassing the top limit of $4,000: California, Connecticut, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Virginia, and Washington. The American Community Survey is an annual survey run by the Census Bureau to allow the government, corporate and academic researchers, and anyone who is curious about demographics to better understand the US population.
