RealtyTrac’s latest home price survey revealed that while home prices continue to appreciate year-over-year, the rate appears to be slowing for many metros.
In total, prices were up in only 45 of 97 metros surveyed in October. Among the top 12, Ohio held six spots. The McAllen-Edinburg-Mission, Texas, metro saw the fastest price appreciation, from -6 percent last year to 20 percent in 2014. Short sales and distressed sales were down 1 percent from October 2013.
