Samsung Announces Smart Home Program at Consumer Electronics Show

The 2015 Consumer Electronics Show highlighted many of the latest products to hit the market, but all eyes were on Samsung Electronics when it announced that 90 percent of the devices it creates will be Internet-enabled by 2017, Bloomberg reported.

While all of Samsung’s products are expected to be Internet-enabled by 2020, the platform in which its products’ functionality is built into will be open.

An open platform will allow developers, software, and hardware manufacturers to do what they’d like with the platform without being confined to using Samsung products. The company’s smart-home product lets users create automatic temperature adjustments as well as TV-based alerts.
