Light bulbs are the emerging household item that’s getting a smart makeover. The New York Times Home & Garden talks about the development and place of smart blubs in the market.
“Programmable light bulbs – you never knew you needed such things, but maybe you do,” Bob Tedeschi writes for the Times. These smart bulbs come complete with a wireless computer-chip and connect to the Internet. Their features are a diverse as the manufacturers that produce them. Philips’ Hue lights, for example, can change color and warmth with the tap of a smartphone screen.
