The Wall Street Journal reports that the median size of completed homes last year was 2,415 sq. ft., hitting a new record.
According to WSJ's Nick Timiraos, houses keep getting bigger despite slow sales because builders are competing for more affluent buyers, who are more likely to qualify for a mortgage and have enough cash for a down payment.
