Portland, Ore., couple Jeff Stirn and his wife both work from home, meaning a lot of time is spent in their house, so they decided to build one better suited for their lifestyle.
According to Dwell, the couple envisioned a modern, energy-efficient residence. Jeff, an architect, general contractor, and certified Passive House consultant, tuned the design for optimized performance.
The resulting home resembles three dark-stained, rough-sawn cedar-clad cubes that change naturally overtime. The dark façade contrasts the bright interiors, where white walls and a pale gray concrete floor reflect sunlight.
