According to Jonathan Smoke, chief economist for Realtor.com, Millennials make up 60 percent of first-time home shoppers, and they are the biggest age group buying homes.
“There are 87 million of them. They outnumber every generation — including the baby boomers,” he said during an annual conference for real estate agents held in San Diego. “By the end of the year, almost 2 million home sales will be to Millennials.”
The Dallas Morning News reports that Texas has a slightly higher percentage of first-time buyers than the rest of the country.
