According to the NAHB, total housing starts in 2014 topped the 1 million mark for the first time since 2007.
Data from the Census and the Department of Housing and Urban Development reported that revised estimates for October and November pushed the total housing start construction to 1,005,800 for 2014. The second half of 2014 saw the most improvement in single-family construction. The NAHB says that the increase bodes well for an expected continued improvement in the single-family market in 2015.
