Italian tile manufacturer Iris Ceramica Group recently debuted new Terrazzo-style porcelain surfaces and a selection of large format marble panels under its Fiandre brand and new onyx lookalikes under its Ariostea brand.
In total, 13 new surfaces fit for both residential and commercial applications were released under the II Veneziano, Maximum Marmi, and Marmi Classici lines.
Fiandre’s II Veneziano and Maximum Marmi collection comply with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) requirements as a recycled material content. At least 40% of both surfacing collections are made from recycled materials.

Deep Emperador
The II Veneziano collection by Fiandre features through-body Terrazzo-style porcelain that Fiandre says falls into the “quintessential terrazzo trend.” Its inspiration comes from 15th-century Venetian palaces. Designers have full range with II Veneziano, says Fiandre, as each element from fleck colors to format size can be customized for any project.
This collection features six colors that are available in a natural or polished finish with a 10-millimeter thickness. Colors are within the beige and gray families, ranging from a darker gray-brown up to lighter hues.
Fiandre expanded its Maximum Marmi range to include polished Italian marble lookalikes: Marbre de Savoie, Deep Emperador, Ethereal Travertino, and Finest Estremoz.

II Veneziano
Maximum Marmi surfaces are identified by their size and appearances that draw inspiration from rare marbles. These surfaces are available in 120 by 60 inches at the largest and down to 30 by 15 inches at the smallest. All surfaces come with 6-millimeter thickness and a polished or semi-polished finish.
One of the collection’s recent additions, Marbre de Savoie, features a gray background and blue-like shading with white and gray veining.
Deep Emperador offers warm dark browns with accents of black and light cream and brown veins. It represents Spain’s most well-known marble and it reflects playfully off of light with its gold undertones. Emperador marble is also recognized as the most popular brown marble on the market.

Crystal Dark
Ethereal Travertino brings in a more unusual inspiration: sedimentary rock. The result is a light beige body with hints of softer veining, helping it achieve a layered effect. Fiandre says this surface can work well in both classic and contemporary projects.
Finest Estremoz mimics the Portuguese marble, and it makes a subtle statement with its gray-white shading and milky pink base. It works well in projects needing a surface that will not dominate the overall design, the company says.
Ariostea expanded its Marmi Classici collection with three crystal onyx surfaces: Crystal Dark, Crystal Grey, and Crystal Sky. All three offer unique veining in a gray-blue color palette. These surfaces are available in 120 by 60 inch and 60 by 60-inch sizes in a polished finish with a 9-millimeter thickness.
