Jan. 17, 2019

Modified wood manufacturer Kebony has developed a line of shiplap paneling for interior applications.

“Shiplap paneling has become increasingly popular for interiors,” says Andy Hehl, Kebony’s U.S. manager. “And Kebony’s moisture-resistant performance characteristics make it perfect for bathrooms and kitchens, where that’s a regular concern.”

Traditional shiplap has been used in American architecture for decades, but the detail has made a comeback in the last 10 years for interior applications. The demand has been strong, which is why Kebony offering the new line.

The brand’s Tongue-and-Groove Nickel Gap shiplap is available in its Clear stock that’s been treated with a bio-based liquid. It comes in 6-inch widths with, or in narrower widths as specified. Kebony says the permanently altered boards maintain the look with greater durability and less maintenance.
