Landscape Architects Create Environmentally Conscious Outdoor Spaces

Arizona homeowners are beginning to take what their climate gives them. Rather than spending money, resources and time maintaining a lawn in the desert, landscape architects are finding that their clients prefer synthetic turf, locally sourced building materials, and water-wise desert plants.

MarketWatch reports that owners across the nation are opting for environmentally conscious landscapes, whether due to regulations, practicality, or ethical reasons.

A landscape architect in Southern California says that even his luxury home owners in Hollywood Hills are forgoing lawns in favor of gardens, and a New York City real estate agent says that outdoor sanctuaries with ecological features like recycled wooden planks and artificial turf are popular.
