Stair systems manufacturer L.J. Smith Stair Systems has expanded its Linear Collection with the launch of a modern infill metal panel product.

The Linear Metal Panel System offers a clean, modern look and comes as pre-assembled panels so it is easy to install.

“This unique stairway system features a simplified installation process for open tread stairways, kneewall stairways, and level run applications,” says Craig Kurtz, president of L.J. Smith Stair Systems. “The seven-level run panels are available to meet rail heights of three different sizes with five-rake panel widths available.

“The pre-assembled nature of the panels speeds up installation,” Kurtz continues. “The system also includes fast-install spacer newels, panel posts, square nose designed treads, and handrails.”

Linear Metal Panels can be pre-built to fit any project and require only a few screw holes drilled for installation. A special, easy-install feature of the system is that requires no glue, no sanding, no code issues, no drilling of baluster holes, and no marking or cutting to fit, the company claims. Plus, every rake and level panel is predrilled on the top rung and comes with screws for easy attachment to the handrail.

“This stairway system boasts a welded look that complements most modern or urban decors,” says Kurtz. “It’s just as fitting for accessing a loft area in a townhouse as it would be as an eye-catching stairway system in a contemporary home.”

The product comes with low-sheen black, but but additional powder-coated and Pantone paint colors can be ordered complement other home interior schemes. Handrail options include red oak and hard maple.
