Navigating the Builders' Show

Create a great Show experience with these insider tips

This article first appeared in the NAHB International Builders' Show 2025 Preshow Planner issue.

Create a great Show experience with these insider tips:

SET GOALS

Optimize your time at the Builders’ Show by creating a strategic plan that aligns with your main goal(s):

  • Learning new residential construction trends
  • Looking for specific products
  • Networking/making connections
  • Identifying Show floor segments
  • Identifying Show floor segments
  • Using IBS App

Pro Tip: Create your schedule with your main priority first but leave time for other areas.

USE THE IBS APP

Download the app from your app store in late January to:

  1. Plan: Add IBS Education sessions, reminders, exhibitors and more to the built-in scheduler.
  2. Navigate: Plan the fastest route to exhibitors, companies and session rooms using the interactive maps.
  3. Network: Connect with attendees, schedule meetings and share experiences.

Pro Tip: Add all events, education sessions, etc., to your show agenda, even if they overlap, to ensure you have a backup to your first choice.

EDUCATION

Search 120+ sessions by topic, interest and date. Build your Show agenda in the app.

Tips to optimize IBS Education:

  1. Plan: Add all of the sessions you want to attend to your Show schedule. Encore (repeat) sessions and additional time slots help you avoid missing any sessions.
  2. Arrive early: Sessions fill up fast, so arrive 15 minutes early. Education and Centrals are in the West Hall—about a 20-minute walk from the South Hall. Take a 2-minute ride in a Vegas LOOP Tesla instead.
  3. Engage: Ask experts questions during Q&A sessions.

SHOW-FLOOR SEGMENTS

Maximize time on the show floor. Review the 1,700+ exhibitors and show floor plans to identify the categories/exhibitors you want to see of the six category segments and Outdoor Exhibits.

DRESS COMFORTABLY

Wear comfortable shoes for tons of walking in three halls, and wear comfy clothing—you’ll see everything from jeans to suits.

PACK SHOW DAY ESSENTIALS

  • Backpack or tote bag for carrying guides, brochures, and samples
  • Notebook and pen for important education information or connections
  • 100% charged phone and portable charger
  • Snacks, reusable water bottle and lunch. Food for purchase is available but lines get long

Pro Tip: Vegas is very dry. Stay hydrated and bring lip balm.

DON’T MISS DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION WEEK

Design & Construction Week (DCW) is in its 12th co-location of the NAHB International Builders’ Show (IBS) and the NKBA Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), making it the largest gathering of design and residential construction industry professionals worldwide.

DCW takes over the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) with exhibits covering 1.2 million net square feet—the largest in Design & Construction Week history. Your IBS registration automatically gives you access to the KBIS exhibits, so you can discover even more new and exciting industry products your customers don’t even know they want yet!

Check out the map of LVCC, below, to plan your Show experience, including visits to DCW exhibition halls and the product segments you can’t wait to explore on the Builders’ Show floor.
