American tile manufacturer New Ravenna has introduced Jardins Francais, a line of French garden-inspired mosaics featuring combinations of natural stone, brass, aluminum, glass, and shell.
In creating the collection, Paris-born interior designer Caroline Beaupere drew on her childhood in Provence, replicating the pathways leading to fountains and ornate iron grille work from her favorite formal gardens. The blend of materials reveals the four seasons caught in Mediterranean light: In Jardin de Villandry, brisk white and tonal gray represent winter; luminescent shell brings forth spring in Fleur de Lys; Monet blue glass in Jardin de Giverny glows with summer light; and the glow of fall is reflected in the brass of Jardin de Versailles.
The stone mosaics are handcrafted in Virginia and are suitable for floors and walls both indoors and outdoors.
