A new partnership between national nonprofit Building Homes for Heroes, which provides mortgage-free adaptive homes and other support services to injured veterans and first responders, and customized wellness program provider O2X Human Performance, aims to enhance the mental, physical, and emotional health of veterans and first responders.

Earlier this year, the two organizations partnered on a workshop in Tampa, Fla., assisting disabled veterans with a customized curriculum led by O2X team members. The goal of the current partnership is to provide resources including human performance workshops and O2X’s Integrated Specialist Programs (ISP), which embed an O2X Human Performance Specialist, or team of specialists, in a department or unit of an organization to implement programs designed to improve members’ mental, physical, and emotional health. ISP identifies and targets organizational needs through observation, education, training, and analysis, according to O2X, and its curriculum addresses nutrition, sleep health, stress management, resilience, and other topics tailored to meet participants’ unique needs.

Building Homes for Heroes has modified and gifted more than 330 homes since 2006. In September, it will deliver its 343rd home in honor of the 343 New York City Fire Department firefighters who died in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001, and the organization is on pace to reach a milestone 400th home in 2024.

“Having already helped our heroes with hundreds of homes, we’re honored to launch our next steps into mental wellness and physical wellbeing for our nation’s veterans, firefighters, police officers and emergency first responders like never before,” Building Homes for Heroes founder Andy Pujol said, in a press release. “We’re proud to work alongside the amazing O2X Performance team that supports several thousand people annually through their programs.”
