Population growth in the nation’s largest and fastest-growing municipalities is slowing down, according to 2017 Census Bureau population estimates.

New Geography reports that among the 36 U.S. municipalities with more than 500,000 residents, the population between 2016 and 2017 grew about 0.63 percents. This is down more than one-third from the annual rate between the April 1, 2010 census and July 1, 2017.

The slowdown was seen across some of the country’s fastest-growing cities, including Fort Worth, Texas, which saw a 2017 estimated growth rate of 2.18 percent, compared to 2.23 percent since the census, and Charlotte, which saw a 1.84 percent increase in population in 2017, compared to 2.16 percent growth since 2010.
