9 Building Products We Spotted at PCBC 2019
PCBC took San Francisco by storm last week with two days of programming dedicated to the art, science, and business of housing. Here are nine products that stood out on the show floor.
Now in its sixth decade, PCBC drew crowds of more than 10,000 industry professionals and 300 exhibiting manufacturers to its 2019 show. Education sessions focused on themes such as technology, innovation, land use, and design trends.
PCBC is the official show of Leading Builders of America and is sponsored by the California Building Industry Association.
Across the show floor, manufacturers were showing off their newest and most innovative products, from smart, modern appliances to a front porch solution for Amazon deliveries. See 9 products that stood out below.
1. JennAir
The appliance company showed off its new modern Rise and Noir appliance collections. Noir offers a range of luxury appliances in a clean, dark, minimal style, including refrigerators with a dark interior lit by LEDs. The 30-inch refrigeration column is shown.
2. Dekton by Cosentino
Dekton Slim boasts an ultra-thin profile of only 4 millimeters, making it lighter in weight and easier to install. It offers flexibility for unique applications on walls, furniture, cabinetry, and more. Dekton products are made from a combination of quartz, porcelain, and glass, making them resistant to UV rays, scratches, stains and thermal shock. It comes in nine colors, including Opera (shown).
3. Blomberg
The appliance company has introduced a new 24-inch washer/dryer combo for space-saving applications. It features an Energy Star efficiency rating, a Wash & Wear cycle, and a Tub Sanitize cycle.
4. Sierra Pacific
The window maker’s FlexScreen is made from a PVC-coated spring steel frame. Its flexible design allows the screen to be fit into the screen track without hardware.
5. Signature Kitchen Suites
After introducing its sous vide range earlier this year, the luxury appliance brand from LG has released a number of different range options. The collection now includes a 36-inch gas model with four burners and a griddle, a 36-inch dual-fuel model with induction cooktop, a 48-inch gas model with six burners and griddle option, and a 48-inch dual-fuel model with sous vide and griddle option.
6. Parcel Pending
The Parcel Acceptance Security System is the first smart package locker designed for single-family homes. It can prevent package theft by allowing delivery pros to place packages in a secure locker, and alert the homeowner of the delivery on their smartphone. The company offers 24/7 surveillance and customer service, and lockers can be customized to match the home’s aesthetics.
7. Savant
The smart home technology company has announced that its Sound Bar would now carry Apple Homekit compatibility and Siri voice control. Sound Bar allows Savant’s line of products and third-party partners to be controlled via voice command through the company’s own software.
8. Boral
Boral has introduced five new roofing colors inspired by the “colors, design and terrain of the Golden State” of California. The on-trend neutrals include Graphite (shown), Sepia, Shadow Black, Saddleback Blend, and Oceana.
9. ClosetMaid
The closet manufacturer has expanded its MasterSuite product, adding a new deep blue finish (shown on top drawer), full backer options, new hardware options in oil rubbed bronze, and diagonal corner shelves for easier molding installation, among other additions.
