“The launch of our 2019 freestanding French door bottom mount refrigeration collection exemplified both what Bosch and a reimagined refrigerator can provide to our consumers – the utmost in functionality, freshness and design,” says Anja Prescher, director of brand marketing at Bosch. “In 2020, our new refrigeration units build upon the innovative foundation we developed for the initial launch to provide two new ice, water and beverage technologies that address important consumer needs.”
Refreshment Center
Because of the rising interest in wine and craft beers, Bosch created the Refreshment Center, a glass-front drawer that is designed to optimize beverage storage. The company says it’s the first such product in the industry.
With five pre-programmed settings, consumers can use the buttons on the appliance to set the temperature and humidity levels that will best preserve their wines and other sensitive beverages. They can also use an app on their smartphone to set custom settings and monitor the drawer’s environment. The drawer can hold up to 17 standard wine bottles, or users can remove the top shelf to accommodate up to six large ones. Additionally, the Bosch 800 Series refrigerator uses dual compressors and evaporators to control temperature and humidity while limiting odor transfer between different zones in the appliance to further protect the beverages by maintaining a stable environment.

If consumers enjoy a few cubes of ice in their chilled white wine, Bosch has them covered as well. The company announced the launch of the QuickIcePro System that enhances the refrigerator’s ice and water makers with three technologies: Rapid Ice Replenishment, which automatically replaces ice to make up to 12 pounds a day; the UltraClarity Pro, which filters 99.9 percent of sediments; and the hands-free BottleFill, which remembers the size of a frequently used glass or bottle. The QuickIcePro System is available with the two Bosch 500 Series counter-depth refrigerators.
QuickIcePro System
The 500 Series QuickIcePro System refrigerator, which features bar handles and stands 69 inches tall, will be available in stainless steel and black stainless steel finishes that create an easy-to-clean surface. The 800 Series Refreshment Center refrigerator is finished in a classic stainless steel that pairs with its exterior glass coating to create what the company says is a contemporary look. In a design twist, this model includes recessed handles to maintain a sleek 72-inch profile.

To create a built-in look, all of the new counter-depth sized appliances have hidden hinges and concealed feet. The inside of the refrigerators feature infinity split glass shelves, a stainless steel back wall, and LED lighting for enhanced visibility.
In order to give consumers “a peace of mind,” all models in the new collection are integrated with Home Connect via a smartphone device. Consumers can remotely monitor and control the refrigerators with functions such as Remote Diagnostics that show how the appliances are running and an automatic alarm that activates when a door is left open.
The new refrigerators will be available mid-2020.
