Legrand Introduces First In-Wall Wireless Smartphone Charger

June 7, 2018

Legrand has introduced an in-wall wireless charging solution for Qi-certified devices to its radiant collection of outlets.

The Wireless Charger, which the company claims is the first of its kind, includes a Qi-certified charging pad in place of a single standard outlet. Smart devices are held to the charging pad by a clear cradle. A red LED at the base of the charger indicates when charging is in progress, and turns green when a device is fully charged.

“The radiant collection delivers style and function to homeowner’s switches and outlets.” says Rebecca Gounaris, Legrand’s director of marketing. “With this introduction, the radiant collection offers more innovative solutions to complement the evolving consumer charging needs at home.”

The wireless pad is paired with two AC receptacles and one USB port for a total charging capacity of 3.1A. The product can be installed in place of any existing outlet without additional wiring, the company says.

The radiant Wireless Charger is compatible with all Qi-enabled devices, including many Apple, Samsung, Sony, LG, Motorola, and Nokia devices.
