Honeywell has introduced a new Wi-Fi-connected controller to pair with its residential ductless heating and cooling systems.
The manufacturer, which produces connected appliances and controls for heating, cooling, and water systems, says the D6 Pro Wi-Fi Ductless Controller is an intuitive replacement for handheld remote controls. It utilizes Honeywell’s Android- and Apple-compatible Lyric app and can use voice control with both Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
The D6 Pro allows homeowners to schedule heating patterns and group different ductless zones in a multi-zone installation. It also has geofencing capabilities, which manages a home’s heating and cooling differently when the homeowner is present or away.
“We’ve designed this product to help our contractors provide more value to their existing accounts and to expand the solutions they can offer new accounts,” says AJ Smith, the vice president and general manager for Honeywell Home and Building Technologies. “This easy-to-use simple-to-deploy controller is relevant for any customers installing and using ductless solutions. The product is elegantly designed and is a fantastic addition to the home décor.”
Honeywell has also emphasized the D6 Pro’s easy installation, which it says “eliminates the need for contractors to access the ductless equipment in most installations, no ladders or tools required.” It can be mounted on a wall or rest on a table top.
