8 New Vanities That Will Upgrade Your Baths in 2021
The vanity remains a functional necessity in the bathroom, but it’s also an opportunity for designers to bring style to a space. We found eight introductions for 2021 that you have to see.
In recent years, vanities have been trending modern, and consumers are moving away from darker tones. The National Kitchen and Bath Association’s 2021 Design Trends Report found residential professionals and homeowners have been leaning toward lighter materials and medium-toned colors for their choices.
For vanity countertop materials, quartz remains a top choice. Professionals see full painted wood as a popular choice for facing vanity materials, followed by full-wood grain. More designers are interested in modern, sleek vanity designs, such as flat panel doors and floating vanities, though transitional remains a highly popular bathroom design style.
Rather than handless vanities or push-to-open drawers and doors, professionals still see a strong desire for decorative hardware.
When it comes to color, the most popular color schemes for bathrooms are by far whites and off-whites, though grays, blues, and beiges are chosen by at least 26% of surveyed professionals.
Here are the eight coolest new bathroom vanity releases we’ve found in 2021 (so far):

The Boston Collection by James Martin
James Martin’s Boston bathroom vanities pair stainless steel and solid surface tops for a modern addition. The collection features five different sizes with a variety of configurations. Vanities are available with or without a storage cabinet, and opting out of the cabinet offers an urban, industrial look. The 20-inch size of these bathroom vanities can work well in small areas because it hangs directly on the wall with no additional features other than the sink itself. Vanities are available in matte black, brushed nickel, or radiant gold. All vanities include a glossy white resin countertop, and storage cabinets are available in walnut, gray, or white.
Helst by Kohler
Kohler aimed for a mix of traditional and modern with its upcoming Helst bathroom vanity. The vanity features a traditional shiplap design with varied panel sizes, and Kohler calls it playful and contemporary. The vanity features drawers, doors, and shelving. Helst will be available in 24-, 30-, 36-, and 48-inch single vanity sizes, plus a 60-inch double vanity in either white or gray. Included with the vanity are brushed nickel hardware, countertop, and undermount rectangular bathroom sink.
Southerk by Kohler
Southerk, also to be released later this year, features ornate door and drawer details with tapered legs. Contrary to linear hardware in a horizontal position, Southerk’s hardware comes vertically. Kohler says Southerk can work in both traditional or modern bathrooms. This vanity features several interior organizational elements and comes with brass hardware. Southerk will be available in white or a new slate gray color, with a countertop and undermount rectangular bathroom sink. Southerk and Helst are just two of Kohler’s nine soon-to-be-released vanity collections.
