In celebration of the company’s 200th anniversary, Duravit announced the winners of its fifth annual Designer Dream Bath Competition, which recognizes innovative and creative bath design utilizing Duravit products.

Two winners were announced, one for the Unbuilt category, representing an incomplete “dream” project, and one in the Built category, representing any project completed within the last five years.

The winner of the Unbuilt category was Sarah E. Wilson of St. Louis-based Sarah E. Wilson Design. Wilson used DuraSquare washbasins, furniture consoles, and a built-in bathtub to transform the only bathroom in a one-story brick house. She will receive $10,000 in Duravit products to fulfill her dream design vision.

"Sarah really highlighted how Duravit product can transform a bathroom,” says Duravit USA President Tim Schroeder. “Her inspiration, drawn from DuraSquare’s unique characteristics and features, led to the creation of a modern space enhanced by Duravit fixtures, putting her entry a step above the rest.”

Janik Lemery of Astro Design Centre in Ontario was the chosen winner for the Built category. Her residential bathroom design used Duravit’s Cape Cod freestanding tub as the room’s sculptural focal point in addition to Starck 3 undermount basins and a P3 Comforts toilet. The design took elements from nature to create a peaceful space. Lemery will receive $5,000 worth of Duravit products for future projects.

“Janik was able to expertly convey how Duravit can be used to both enhance the durability and technology of a bathroom, as equally as it can be used to enhance the visual aesthetic,” says Schroeder.

Honorable mentions were awarded to Martin deSosa of deSosa Design in the Unbuilt category and Yoann Ricau of Maxwell + Finch in the built category.
