MTI Baths has partnered with noted New York City design firm Studio DB for The new Blake freestanding tub offering a contrasting lip design.

Studio DB, an architectural and interiors company, originally designed the tub as part of an upscale Brooklyn condominium project. The result was so successful that The Blake has been launched as part of MTI’s exclusive Boutique Collection and made available to designers and consumers alike as a luxurious soaker or air bath, the company says.

The tub is notable for its distinctive lip that accentuates its silhouette and invites adding a contrasting exterior color. Measuring 66 inches by 32 inches, The Blake is available in white or biscuit, in either matte or hand-finished deep high-gloss, with eight optional exterior colors, including the two newest colors, Sapphire Blue and Stratus Gray. “This tub is a great choice for those who want to add colorful contrast to an all-white bathroom,” the company says.

The Blake is crafted from the company’s SculptureStone, a 70 percent mostly organic mixture of natural minerals mixed with high-performance resins to create a molded stone appearance that is solid, non-porous and resistant to stains, mold, and mildew. MTI says the back side of the deck is designed to mount flush against the wall, while the front is angled. The deck may be ordered in a material color and finish to match the tub, or in any of the eight exterior colors for a cohesive finished look. It too is crafted of SculptureStone and may have faucet holes factory-drilled for easy installation.

It is “a beautiful addition to the bathroom all on its own, with graceful lines and a versatile simplicity that complements modern and traditional decors,” the company says. “MTI offers an optional integral faucet deck to add an extra design dimension and accommodate typical tub faucetry.”
