Building and decorative materials manufacturer LG Hausys America announced two new quartz surfacing collections and builder-only luxury vinyl tile lines at the 2021 Kitchen and Bath Industry Show.

Viatera, LG’s quartz surface brand, introduced the Urban and Calacatta Collections, bringing the brand’s offerings from just three to five. An additional color, Adagio Gold, will be added to Viatera’s Masterpiece Collection. New luxury vinyl tile collections, Grand Teton and Pike’s Peak, are marketed solely for home builders, marking the company’s entry into the home building market.

LG describes Viatera as “classic” and “timeless,” noting that its new quartz surfaces adhere to the same aesthetic. The inspiration for Viatera’s Urban Collection comes from organic colors, patterns, and shapes, which meet the current design trends of sustainability and natural elements. Urban’s colors, Metro and Gotham, are available in a brushed finish.

Metro and Gotham draw inspiration from real concrete countertops and offer a refined yet modern version of the material, says the company. Metro features brighter gray hues that range from light to medium and nearly white, while Gotham’s design is more true-concrete with mixes of darker gray shades.

The Calacatta Collection includes Calacatta Sol and Calacatta Plata. Sol features large patterns and marble veining with hints of gold veins on a bright white background. Plata offers more natural, random silver veining, the company says.

Adagio Gold, the single addition to Viatera’s Masterpiece line, features very light wisps of gold veins compared to the Calacatta Sol surface with thicker, more prominent marble veins.

Each Viatera surface can be purchased in 63 by 130-inch slabs in either 2- or 3-centimeter thickness and come with the company’s 15-year transferable warranty.

LG says its new luxury vinyl tile collections are specifically designed, manufactured, and priced to meet the needs of today’s home builders. Both the Grand Teton and Pike’s Peak lines feature realistic patterns and visuals of natural stone and wood in a glue-down format, the company says.

Grand Teton offers eight colors in 6-by-48-inch planks, four colors in 18-by-18-inch tiles, and a 12-millimeter wear layer. Pike’s Peak features 14 colors in 7-by-48-inch planks, four colors in 12-by-24-inch tiles, and a 20-millimeter wear layer. Both lines feature stone and wood designs, which the company says are printed with high-resolution technology resulting in realistic patterns.

The luxury vinyl tile collections feature a double-coated surface that prevents scratches, staining, and deformation from moisture. Both 100% virgin vinyl collections come with a 25-year residential warranty and are certified for low VOCs.

“We are pleased to bring the LG brand name and our global design and manufacturing expertise to home builders here in North America,” says Carol Lee, marketing communication manager at the company. “We believe home builders will find our LVT products to be of exceptional quality, high design, and price-accessible.”

Additionally, LG’s HI-MACS brand recently added three new colors to its Wood Collection debut, and is set to add four colors to the existing Aurora Collection. HI-MACS are acrylic solid surfaces with durability similar to stone, says LG. The surfaces can be heated and shaped, able to create challenging designs. The Wood Collection now brings a durable, manufactured option for butcher block countertops.
