Marvin Windows Introduces New Ingenious Locking Mechanism
Marvin Windows and Doors has introduced a new window locking system that also acts as a handle for raising and lowering the bottom sash.
The manufacturer says the system, Lift Lock, relocates the lock from its conventional position on the check rail to the lower part of the sash, which solves the an age-old problem of lock accessibility.

“Now, the lift lock unlocks and acts as a handle for raising and lowering the bottom sash,” the company says. “To lock, simply close the bottom sash.”
Lift Lock is available on the brand’s Ultimate Single Hung Next Generation window.
“Picture the iconic window behind a kitchen sink,” says Kris Hanson, senior manager, product management at Marvin Windows and Doors. “Homeowners love the look, but don't love that it can be difficult to open. The Marvin Lift Lock solves that problem with a sleek, ergonomic design that allows users to effortlessly open windows in hard-to-reach places and large windows expanding up to 10 feet tall and 5 feet wide.”
The operation of the window, Marvin says, works seamlessly even with limited hand dexterity or range of motion, so it’s ideal for homes accessible or where universal design is desirted.
Lift Lock is available on windows measuring up to 5 feet wide by 10 feet high.
