Samsung has released a new collection of Front Control Slide-In ranges that feature Wifi and voice-enabled capabilities.

The Front Control Slide-in Ranges feature a Smart Dial, air fry mode, Wifi connection, voice command, fingerprint resistance, and gas or electric cooktops.

There are five different models available depending on a homeowner’s need. Electric/induction, gas, or dual fuel mode are available. Smart tech capabilities vary per Samsung oven.

Out of all the smart tech features, Smart Dial stands out as the most intuitive. This dial works to learn a user’s behavior and recommends cooking preferences based on typical usage. For example, if a user sets the oven’s temperature at 350 degrees for 30 minutes often, the dial will then recommend this setting as a shortcut. Users can hit start for the appliance to begin the timer and temperature setting.

Through its Wifi connection, the cooker can be controlled via Samsung’s SmartThings app. Users are able to preheat, monitor, and adjust cooking times or temperatures through their phones. Wifi connection also allows for voice control features, which will work with Bixby, Alexa, or Google.

But the company says its appliances performance is just as much of a selling point as the smart tech features. Samsung touts its new range as having the “most powerful burner in the industry” with 23,000 BTUs on its dual ring brass power burner.

The company also gives its ranges a “Ready2fit” guarantee—a term trademarked by Samsung. If a homeowner has a 30-inch freestanding range cutout in their existing kitchen, Samsung guarantees its Front Control Slide-In Ranges will fit right in. If it does not fit, the company promises to cover some of the costs of countertop modifications, but only for a limited time, according to its website.

This appliance debut coincides with the debut of the Samsung oven Tuscan Stainless Steel finish, which gives off a slightly brown, reddish color. Black and standard stainless steel finishes are also available for this range.

Front facing controls give homeowners the ability to show off their backsplashes, says the company. These control knobs are designed for better grip and control, says Samsung. Each knob is backlit as well.

By offering air fry capabilities within the appliance, Samsung says homeowners will have more counter space as it removes the need for a separate air fryer.

The company says its new ranges were designed with changed consumer behavior in mind. According to a survey conducted by the company, people are enjoying cooking more now, and more than 50% of people report they will continue to cook at home even after the pandemic ends. Due to this growth of interest and increased time spent at home, more homeowners are investing in their kitchens, according to Samsung.

We’ve seen a steep increase in demand, especially for certain appliances,” wrote John Herrington, senior vice president and general manager of home appliances for Samsung. “For instance, as people limit their trips to the grocery store and stock up more, sales of second refrigerators increased. And as people cook more, they are looking for appliances that can save them time in the kitchen and simplify meal prep.”
