Sherwin-Williams has unveiled its 2013 Color Forecast and announced its 2013 color of the year, Aloe (SW 6464).

“This is no ordinary pastel,” said Jackie Jordan, Sherwin–Williams director of color marketing. “Aloe is funky and glamorous, demure and free-spirited. And Aloe is highly adaptable, making it a perfect pick for everyday spaces such as a breezy sunroom or a well-dressed living room.”

When paired with blacks, whites, or grays, Jordan describes the look as “retro.” Pairing Aloe with natural textiles, aged metals, or wood tones will provide a tranquil environment. Jordan recommends combining Aloe with chartreuse, floral lilacs, and corals for a more energetic look.

Aloe is one of 40 colors that comprise the 2013 color forecast from Sherwin-Williams. The new shades are divided into four color palettes.

Midnight Mystery is a collection of darker, masculine shades with an aesthetic that is both Victorian and modern. Colors include Rare Gray, Plum Brown, Roycroft Bottle Green, Outerspace, Loyal Blue, Rustic Red, Rookwood Dark Red, Chamois, Olde World Gold, and Mink.

Honed Vitality gets its inspiration from the Earth, with a variety of comforting hues found in nature. Colors include Silver Strand, Unusual Gray, Mountain Stream, Poolhouse, Herbal Wash, Roycroft Suede, Safari, Wickerwork, Smokey Topaz, and Spiced Cider.

The Vintage Moxie collection combines antique shades with a modern twist. Colors include Rosy Outlook, Rosedust, Bathe Blue, Gauzy White, Aloe, Darkroom, Awesome Violet, Independent Gold, Radiant Lilac, and Obi Lilac.

The High-Voltage pallete is a high-energy, Vegas-inspired collection of bright, vibrant colors. Colors include Gladiola, Feverish Pink, Black Magic, Exuberant Pink, Extra White, Dovetail, Electric Lime, Eye Catching, Calypso, and Frank Blue.
