Following the launch of its first entry into the freestanding bath category, Sterling Plumbing has added a new collection of tubs that can be positioned anywhere in a bathroom.
Consisting of three freestanding bathtubs, the Unwind collection is a mid-priced line that offers a luxe look that will surely be the attention-grabbing centerpiece of any bathroom, the company says.
“By addressing design trends, installation processes, bathing space and budget concerns, the Unwind bath family will be a force in the growing freestanding market,” says Scott Jaeger, business development manager for Sterling.“These baths were designed with an effort to offer something to everyone. We accomplished that goal with the combination of design and price points we have delivered.”

This new collection of tubs come at a time when demand for tubs is strong n some markets. In some middle-income homes, owners are installing a large shower in the master bath, but making sure the guest bathroom has a tub. The idea is that homeowners take showers more often than baths so it makes sense to rip out or install a tub in favor of a large shower with more amenities. Soaking tubs are especially hot with designers, says the National Kitchen and Bath Association, as the demand for luxurious-looking, spa baths are trending with consumers and buyers.
Unwind baths fit squarely into this trend. The units can be positioned anywhere in the room, so whether they are flanking a wall, positioned in a corner, or set up as a stand-alone statement piece, they give spaces a high-end, spa-like appeal. The collection consists of a sculptural Oval Bath, a crisp-edged Rectangle Bath, and a Back-to-Wall Bath that is ideal for smaller spaces. The Back-to-Wall unit offers a faucet deck and an open back that allows for easy faucet installation.

All three tubs come in a 59-inch-by-30-inch model; the Oval tub and Back-to-Wall version come in 67-inch-by-32-inch sizes; and the Rectangle Bath is available in a slightly smaller 67-inch-by-30-inch size.
Every Unwind bathtub offers a single-piece, seamless design with a built-in integral overflow, concealed legs that can be adjusted, and an above-floor rough-in. A white toe-tap drain is included on all models.
