A new report by the Brookings Institution’s Metropolitan Policy Program examines where the millennial generation is moving.

Colorado Springs, Colo., and San Antonio, Texas saw the highest increases in millennial populations between 2010 and 2015, both at slightly over 14 percent growth. Provo-Orem, Utah, was found to be the city with the highest share of millennial population, at about 30 percent. The cities with growing millennial populations tended to be in the southern and western portions of the country, while decreases were concentrated in the Midwest.

Curbed reports that millennials, defined here as those born between 1981 and 1997, now make up a quarter of the U.S. population, giving them increased power to influence the cities they choose to live in.
