The HPI-1000 Building Insulation Blanket from Dow Corning can be installed in hard-to-reach places that are difficult to insulate. The product—based on silicon ultra-porous, ultra-light solid aerogel technology—is easy to cut and form into complex shapes and can be applied at a thickness of 1 inch, making it good for use in tight spaces. The material is fire-resistant, hydrophobic, and won’t settle over time. It can be used to provide a thermal barrier between conductive elements and as a thermal shim or spacer.
