A United Kingdom-based startup is preparing to release the first implementation of a new cloth solar cell it has developed.
The cloth is currently being marketed for parking lots, and the company expects to close deals covering 27,000 parking lots across the U.K. According to their calculations, that would cover 320 square miles of roof space and 135 square miles of parking space — enough to power the country’s grid three times over.
