Electric radiant heating manufacturer WarmlyYours recently expanded its line of controls with a new WiFi-enabled thermostat that is designed to work with various home automation systems.

Launched in early June 2020, the Mysa WiFi Programmable Thermostat serves as a new home automation-friendly control option for both electric floor heating and hardwired radiant heating panels, the manufacturer says. The Mysa WiFi is compatible with nearly every home automation system including Amazon’s Alexa, Google Assistant, Apple Home Kit, IFTTT, and SmartThings.

Julia Billen, owner and president of WarmlyYours, says this compatibility bypasses the need for third-party hardware and it can make the heating system voice-enabled via the home automation system.

“Comfort is timeless but technology is always changing,” Billen says. “WarmlyYours prioritizes innovation and this thermostat allows us to bring comfort into our customers’ homes in a brand new way—all they have to do is say the word—literally!”

The Mysa thermostat features a minimalist design with an LED dot-matrix display with capacitive touch-sensitive buttons for intuitive operation. It also allows homeowners to control their radiant heating system remotely with a smart phone or tablet computer.

WarmlyYours says the Mysa WiFi differentiates itself from other WiFi-enabled electric floor heating thermostats with several key factors that help maximize a radiant heating system’s energy efficiency. The device’s app includes the option for homeowners to create their own custom heating schedule or to select a default Energy Star schedule to help save on energy use. Additionally, the app includes features such as energy charting, which allows homeowners to monitor where and when energy is used, and geofencing, which will turn the system on and off based on your phone’s location to prevent unnecessary energy use when owners are not home.

In addition to remote operation, the unit features a floor sensor that allows an owner to control the system based on floor temperature for efficient operation, capacitive touch-sensitive buttons, programmable custom schedules, and flexibility to control both electric floor heating systems and hardwired radiant panels.

Traditionally most radiant heated floor systems used thermostats that allow homeowners to input preset temperature schedules. Often set at the factory, the presets allow homeowners to schedule when the system came on in morning and at what temperature and when it was turned off. In the off season, homeowners simply deactivated the thermostat for the summer season.

But now more radiant heating manufacturers are offering these smart systems that give homeowners more flexible control over their systems.

More importantly, Billen says that for many years radiant heating customers have requested ways to increase the energy efficiency of their systems and that this new thermostat helps address those concerns.

“Whether you’re concerned about the environment or just looking to save on your heating bill, we all want to make sure our systems are running at peak efficiency,” she says. “The new Mysa WiFi puts that control in your hands and gives you the data you need in order to make informed decisions about your heating habits.”
