LG Electronics’ new laundry WashTower offers AI-powered smart technology in a sleek space-saving design.

The vertical laundry appliance features advanced washing and drying performance at a height 3 inches shorter than other stacked laundry machines, says LG. Compared to traditional side by side washers and dryers, the WashTower takes up half the space.

LG says the freedom that the appliance gives homeowners allows them to curate an optimal laundry room for all their needs.

“Consumers are craving increased satisfaction and efficiency when it comes to mundane chores like laundry and LG WashTower is the game-changing solution that doesn’t sacrifice best-in-class performance or capacity so you can do laundry better and faster,” said Peggy Ang, head of marketing at LG Electronics USA. “With a style-forward design that takes up half the space, it gives you the freedom to reinvent your laundry space in your own style.”

AI-powered technology includes intuitive built-in sensors that can determine both the type of fabric and the laundry load size being placed inside. This helps homeowners by allowing the appliance to choose the best washing and drying cycles. The washer can even tell the dryer which drying cycle would work best with the washing cycle through LG’s Smart Pairing technology.

But homeowners can still control the appliance through a touchscreen Center Control interface, which LG says is “perfectly positioned” at “just the right height.”

When homeowners do choose their own wash and dry cycles, the appliance will remember the temperature, spin, speed, and dry level to make future laundry loads more streamlined.

For homeowners with asthma or allergies, the WashTower has been certified asthma and allergy friendly. WashTower also eliminates more than 95% of allergens from fabric with its steam setting, LG says. TurboSteam can also act as a refresher between washes to refresh pillows, toys, and clothing.

The WashTower can also wash larger laundry loads in less time. Its TurboWash 360 setting washes the largest loads in just 30 minutes due to the appliance’s five jets with variable sprays.

Available in either white or black steel, the WashTower measures 4.5 cubic feet for the washer and 7.4 cubic feet for the dryer in either a gas or electric option.
