Western Windows Adds Impact-Resistant Glass to 7000 Series

Nov. 29, 2018

Window and door manufacturer Western Window Systems is set to add impact-resistant glass to its Series 7000 family of aluminum products.

“The new impact-resistant option is an irresistible choice for architects and builders looking to capture the contemporary trend while addressing energy efficiency and the tough building code requirements of coastal areas,” says Scott Gates, president of Western Window Systems. “By delivering on these key areas, we’re able to fuel our growth in core markets such as Hawaii and emerging markets like New York.”

Western says the new products offer impact-resistance and energy efficiency and are designed primarily for cold-weather regions along the East Coast. The products draw on the expertise of the brand’s parent company PGT Innovations, which specializes in impact-rated glass openings.

Available in early 2019, the impact-resistant products will include the Series 7600 Multi-Slide Door, Series 7630 Window Wall, Series 7660 Awning Window, Series 7670 Casement Window, Series 7675 Fixed Window, and the Series 7680 Hopper Window. A variety of sizes and configurations will be available.
