Wilsonart has developed a line of acrylic backsplash surfacing as an affordable alternative to traditional tile.
The company says the new collection comes in response to the Houzz 2019 U.S. Kitchen Trends Study, which “concluded that 87 percent of renovating homeowners install a new backsplash as part of their kitchen upgrade.”
The acrylic surface provides a quick-to-install, grout-free solution for updating kitchen backsplashes. The elimination of grout lines reduces the possibility of mold or mildew buildup, the company says.
Following current trends, the Backsplash Collection incorporates popular colors and patterns, including geometric patterns and a subway tile look in neutral colors. The acrylic material does not require any specific tools to install, but is not suitable for installation behind gas cooktops or gas slide-in ranges.
