Because the WRB is integrated into the Structural 1-rated sheathing panel, it eliminates the risk of water getting trapped between the barrier and the sheathing, which can cause costly rework during construction or moisture-related issues over time.  Taped panel seams provide a rigid air barrier to help reduce air leakage and contribute to greater energy efficiency of the structure.
