The Obama administration will most likely miss a deadline for its anticipated report regarding the future of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, according to The Wall Street Journal.
The Dodd-Frank law that called for changing financial-industry regulations didn’t address the mortgage giants, but it did require the Treasury Department to report recommendations by Jan. 31.
Officials say they plan to release the report by mid-February. However, due to a lack of agreement between Treasury and White House officials, the report will most likely have several proposals for replacing Fannie and Freddie.
