Choosing between buying a home or continue saving is difficult for many Millennials

Homeowners in their late twenties share the compromises they made to buy their homes with U.S. News & World Report.

One Atlanta homeowner, financial blogger Lauren Bowling, 28, applied for a down payment assistance loan issued by the city. But as a condition to get the assistance, Bowling had to purchase a foreclosure. Bowling ended up having to use the bulk of her savings and give up some purchases to make home improvements

Another homeowner, North Carolina math teacher Allison Hines, 26, decided together with her husband that a home is more important than a honeymoon.
