Eugene, Ore., to Use $1M Trust Fund for Affordable Housing

The city is currently seeking proposals for affordable housing projects
Jan. 4, 2024

On Jan. 4, the City of Eugene, in Oregon, announced that its Affordable Housing Trust Fund (AHTF) will provide $1 million in funding for affordable housing projects, KPIC4 reports. The AHTF is funded by a construction excise tax (Ordinance No. 20609) that the city council established in 2019 to create a source of funding for affordable housing in Eugene.

City officials say this year just over $1-million in AHTF funds are available for local innovative housing projects. Proposed rental or home-ownership projects should:

Be located in Eugene city limits;
Include at least 4 dwellings;
Meet affordability and other criteria outlined in the application; and
Submit a letter of interest by February 1 and a complete application by March 1.
