Minneapolis emerged as the top housing market for renters in 2025.
In 2025, many renters are looking to relocate, but some cities are drawing more interest than others. To assess the markets where renters in 2025 are heading, online rental marketplace RentCafe analyzed its online engagement across the largest cities in the U.S. Minneapolis emerged as the top rental hotspot for 2025, after ranking in first place multiple times throughout 2024. It was followed by Atlanta, Overland Park, Kan., Cleveland, and Washington, D.C.
The Midwest and the West emerged as the most sought-after regions by renters in 2025 after each claimed 10 spots in our annual top 30, outpacing the South with eight entries and the Northeast, which rounded out the list with two cities.Read more
