N.J. Attorney General to investigate complaints on home insurers following Superstorm Sandy
Some engineers allegedly rewrote reports to enable insurers to reduce awards to policyholders.

The New Jersey Attorney General will investigate as many as 1,000 claims by homeowners who say they were shortchanged by insurance companies after Superstorm Sandy damaged their homes.
The complaints involve insurance companies that FEMA hires to administer the National Flood Insurance Program. There have been allegations that some reports from engineers were rewritten to enable insurers to reduce awards to policyholders who had lost everything.
