Career and technical education (CTE) administrators and educators play an important role in getting students interested in trades careers. The work of these educators is celebrated each year during February, which is also known as Career and Technical Education Month. This year, the National Association of Home Builders will kick off the celebration with a webinar featuring high school trade instructors who will share some of the strategies they use to motivate and educate students interested in pursuing a career in the trades. The webinar will be hosted on Feb. 3 at 3 p.m. Registration for the webinar is now open. In addition to the webinar, NAHB suggests other ways to get involved, including job shadowing, donating equipment to trade schools, promoting CTEs on social media, and more.
The panelists will share best practices for implementing experiential learning activities and running promotional campaigns. NAHB has promotional materials, such as flyers and social media ads, that workforce development advocates can share to promote CTE Month which are available on nahb.org. Learn more
