From white cabinets to intricate tile designs, designers predict these kitchen trends will be left behind in the new year

Kitchen trends came and went in 2024, but there are some that designers believe have overstayed their welcome. Business Insider spoke with various designers to gain a clearer understanding of which kitchen design trends are likely to be left behind in the new year. Some of the most popular trends projected to go away in 2025 include all-white kitchens, flashy backsplashes, and open shelving, among others.

Kasandra Rafter, interior designer and founder of Canyon Creative, told BI she has noticed an uptick in all-white kitchens, which she finds cold and sterile.

If you're going to do an all-white kitchen, consider steering clear of cool-toned whites. Warmer off-whites and soft taupes still allow your other design elements to shine but create a more inviting atmosphere."
