Looking ahead to 2025, designers are prioritizing warm, human-centered spaces with a strong focus on sustainability, according to Dwell. This includes using locally sourced, nontoxic, and plant-based materials, as well as innovative approaches such as mass-timber construction. In 2025, designers will also likely continue to move away from sterile, tech-heavy spaces, and instead favor earthy elements such as terra-cotta, wood, and other design features that reflect the natural world.
Spaces will feel like a "visual hug," says one designer. Handmade homes with textured, imperfect materials will help.
