In downtown Las Vegas, a community of tiny houses, Airstreams, and micro apartments converted out of a former motel, called Private Residential at Ferguson's Downtown, houses Millennials, artists, families, and entrepreneurs.

Tony Hsieh, Zappos CEO, is the founder and resident of Private Residential. Hsieh sought to make Las Vegas the “coworking and colearning capital of the world," when he purchased 60 acres of land in the Vegas downtown, invested $50 million in local small businesses incubators, and another $50 million in arts organizations. Curbed reports that the plan's ultimate goal was to turn Vegas into Nevada's own Silicon Valley.

"Downtown was a nice area at one time, but then it kind of just got forgotten," says resident Garrett Miller. "We've got about 15 different trailers on this city block between our tiny house mansion, Airstreams, and then tiny houses. We have seven micro apartment units that are a little over 500 square feet. We host movie nights, jam sessions with local musicians, Sunday brunch ..." says resident Jen Taler. The community was built to attract young creatives to the area.
