Higher Percentage Of Americans Think Home Values Will Rise

According to a Gallup poll, 61 percent of adults in the U.S. believe house prices in their area will increase over the next 12 months, up from 55 percent a year ago.

It’s the highest level of optimism since 2005, which 70 percent of respondents thought home values would rise. The percentage dipped to a low of 22 percent in 2009.

These expectations largely mirror what has happened to U.S. home values over the past 10 years, with declines between 2007 and 2011, and increases beginning in 2012 and continuing since then.
