A British Village Fights Over a Frank Lloyd Wright House

The small village of Wraxall, 130 miles west of London, is divided on whether or not a Frank Lloyd Wright house can be built there.

The Wall Street Journal chronicles the story of Hugh Pratt, “a high-voltage electrical engineer and lifelong Wright admirer who has spent more than a decade and an estimated $150,000” to build a home in the village based on Wright’s original design.

Angry neighbors and some members of the local government think that the stone, glass, and concrete house is inappropriate for their village, where homes are generally historic.
