Realtor Mag reports that NerdWallet looked at 150 of the largest cities in the country and used Air Quality Index, public transit use, types of energy sources used, and housing density to choose the 10 greenest cities.
Many of the country’s largest urban areas were on the list, due to the lack of sprawl and their low energy needs. This includes San Francisco, New York, and Seattle.
Crowned with the title Greenest City is Honolulu. Washington, D.C. is a runner-up and Arlington, Va., gets third place.
