A new report from the National Association of Realtors found that existing home sales fell more than expected in April after a surprising gain in March.
Falling volumes in the South and West were attributed to the decline as well as a gain in prices due to low inventory and pent-up demand from buyers. Despite the decline in April, national existing home sales volumes were up 6.1 percent year-over-year last month.
