Even a Noted Homeownership Booster Lost His Home During the 00's

Just 21 years old at the time, Jim Mikitz and his wife of Allentown, Pa., introduced President Bill Clinton at his June 1995 speech on the homeownership push, just weeks after Mikitz and his wife had closed on their own purchase using a new federal loan.

Wall Street Journal real estate reporter Nick Timiaros reached out to Mr. Mikitz and found out that he, too, lost his home to foreclosure in 2004 after his divorce.
